Nice Weekend

Weekend's come and gone and what did I do? Not much but it was a nice weekend. Saturday morning we cleaned the apartment up which I normally would consider a waste of a Saturday but I don't always get a chance during the week to do housework. Besides, with hubby home, it gets done twice as fast:) We then took Lucas to Edward's Garden - one of the prettier parks in Toronto. There were at least 4 weddings going on that day. It was almost perfect - sunny but just a bit too hot so we didn't stay too long. Had pho at our favourite Vietnamese restaurant and watched "Collateral" on dvd after Lucas went to bed. Okay movie.

Sunday, we did our errands - grocery and household stuff from Walmart. Came home and all three of us had a nap. " The Taste of the Danforth" (Greek food festival) was on this weekend but we decided it would be too much of a production to go with Lucas so instead, we went out to a Greek restaurant for dinner. We went with our good friends J and C as well as 2 of C's sisters. Haven't seen his sisters in a while so it was fun catching up. I ordered my favourite, gyros with greek salad, rice pilaf and mixed veggies. I didn't have the fries like I usually do. Felt like being healthy for once. We also shared the sagonaki and calamari. After dinner, J and C came over and we just hung out and chatted for hours. Lucas went straight to bed without a fuss and so were able to have some adult conversation and even a glass or two of wine. It was a nice finish to a nice weekend. Who says nice has to be boring?

That's appealing. I like that you guys make time for each other and your friends. :)

Hope you don't mind, I added you as a friend.

It is so important that we make some time for the two of us and our friends. We're not (actually I am not) at the stage yet where I want to go out as a couple. I like to bring Lucas along but now that he goes to bed around 9:00pm, we do have some couple time alone. Now I just need to make some "me" time :)

I'm glad you added me as a friend. I will do the same.

Haven't had greek for a while since LG can't have any lamb at the moment but I love gyros too! Try boiled potato next time instead of fries, seems to be healthier...

Why can't LG have lamb? Is it because she is pregnant? I haven't heard of that but I have heard that you should not eat shellfish or watermelon when pregnant. The Chinese and their old wives' tales.

I do love potato but sometimes I just crave the grease and salt of fries lol!

Yeah it's one of the chinese tradition thing... but she keeps on eating watermelon and same as one of my friends, just not too much is ok as the main concern is the sugar content, not "cold" as the chinese tradition says.

nice

Sounds like a nice relaxing weekend and that you and your hubby have your routine down with the baby pretty well. For us, it's a bit unstable still and not that easy to coordinate the "alone" time with my hubby and I. When we do have some time to ourselves we both fall asleep pretty quickly. It would be nice to enjoy a glass of wine too since Im such a wino. : ) lol
